MESSAGE FROM OUR AWANA DIRECTORS
AWANA changes lives! Young people learn more about God’s Word, and how to apply His ways every day! AWANA also has incredible games, lots of awards, and fun weekly specials.
“AWANA” means “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed,” from 2 Timothy 2:15:
“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a workman who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” AWANA Clubs International is an interdenominational children’s program across America and in about 108 countries.
Parents, you can help us make AWANA a better experience for your children!
(1) Keep the AWANA calendar in a place where you and your children see it often, and check it out before each week to find out information like appropriate dress for that night’s activities etc.
(2) Encourage your children to complete handbook sections. (You could keep the
books near the kitchen or dining room, and work on them a few minutes before
meals!)
(3) Be sure your children bring their AWANA handbooks every week, ready to pass sections. Young people should also wear running shoes for our fun Game Time.
Keep in touch! Let us know how we can better meet the needs of your child and your family. Call us if you have questions or comments!
AWANA Frequently Asked Questions
1. WHAT ARE WEEKLY AWANA MEETINGS LIKE?
For every age group there’s a GAME TIME, in which four teams (red, blue, green
and yellow) play exciting games around the game circle. There’s a COUNCIL
TIME, when the large group enjoys singing, announcements, a Bible message,
and presentation of awards. At HANDBOOK TIME, young people meet with
their Leaders in small groups to pass handbook sections and get to know each
other better.
2. HOW MUCH DOES AWANA COST?
There is a $10.00 registration fee per child (limit $30 per family). This fee helps us pay for awards and some of the special nights throughout the year. Your child will also have the opportunity to earn a handbook and uniform. The average cost for these items is $10.00 each, but may vary slightly.
3. CAN I STAY WITH MY CHILDREN DURING AWANA?
Of course! Parents are welcome anytime!
If you have more questions please contact our AWANA Co-Commanders!
